About This Course

This interactive 6-session course on the "Use of Generative AI in Education" offers educators, school leaders and curriculum designers an opportunity to experience hands-on learning in exploring the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in education. Participants will learn about the emerging research and practices in the use of GAI in education, including the practical applications of GAI in enhancing teaching and learning. Through blended learning comprising interactive online seminars and hands-on activities, the course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to implement strategies for using GAI in content creation and assessment. Upon successful completion, participants would acquire a deeper understanding of the use of GAI in education and will also be awarded a Sing-Ed Academy Certificate of Attainment with a personalised learning report to guide their future endeavours in integrating Generative AI in education.

Structure and Approach

The participants will attend six online face-to-face seminars (1 hour per seminar). At the seminar, the participants will be provided with the necessary introductory information on GAI in education and will discuss issues relating to the use of GAI in education. If participants are unable to attend the seminar, they should read uploaded materials and complete the activities for the seminar (2 hours per seminar). Participants will also work on a mini project in their subject areas where they can apply their learning in using GAI for content or assessment creation. Participants are expected to spend about 1 hour per week on their Project discussions and development. The assessment for the course includes self-evaluation and peer-evaluation. More details will be provided during the sessions.
